The goal of the detox diet is to rid the body of the accumulated over the years toxic wastes. There are number of detox diets available and they all make different claims but the goal of all the diets is the same - to relieve the body of the accumulated toxic wastes.

An ideal detox diet would provide the complete balance of nutrients required by our body. A detox diet does not restrict you to eating just fruits and vegetables; you are advised not to consume unhealthy foods such as fried, processed foods, sugar, or saturated fats.

Here is a sample detox diet:

  • A banana porridge for breakfast
  • A plate of grilled cod with potatoes and steamed vegetables.
  • A plate of baked salmon with potatoes and steamed vegetables.

You are advised to have snacks in between as it might be difficult for someone who is used to having heavy meals to stick to this diet.
